Norman Ritthaler was born in Alpena in 1942 to Ida Ritthaler (Liske) and Edward Ritthaler.

An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and sharing stories about working on the farm with his father and brothers. He looked forward to vacationing on Hubbard Lake and loved to spend time with family and friends, and fishing and boating with his children. He had fond memories of taking his mother on a trip to Ft. Myers Beach, Florida, and listening to her tell stories about when he was just a boy.

Norm was a journeyman electrician by trade and got his start working for the JIC Machine Tool where he served for many years before starting his own venture. He and a few partners started the AEC Electric company, where he continued working in the field and then in the office until he retired in 2011.

His hunting camp in Alcona County was "his happy place" where he loved to spend vacations and to hunt with family and friends. There it was his passion for passing on family values and hands-on skills to his children and grandchildren. One of his favorite places to be was in front of the fireplace at "The Camp."

Norm is survived by his wife Linda Ritthaler (Bonham); sons: Douglas & Darcie (Moss) Ritthaler, Darin & Indah Ritthaler (Jono); Daughter Dawn (Griffin) & David Frizzell; grandkids: Brittney (Frizzell) & Derrick Sheppard, Ethan Frizzell, Morgan & Ryn Rittlee, Kyle & Haley Harris, Joseph Frizzell, Andrew (AJ) Moss, Karissa Ritthaler, David Moss, Annastasia Ritthaler; great grandkids: Carson & Kenndy Sheppard, Connelly & Tallulah Harris; siblings: Edward Ritthaler, Arlene Meyers, Diane Ritthaler, Betty Tolsdorf, Floyd Ritthaler, Carol Kaiser, Gayle Thibault, Wendy Thibault, and 22 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Edward Ritthaler, Ida Ritthaler (Liske), Janet Thibault, and Judy Schiller
