Norman Dean Robinson, Sr. age 80, of Marion, passed away at Deer Park Rehabilitation on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
Norman was born on April 18, 1943 in McDowell County to the late Gay Robinson and the late Bonnie Autrey Robinson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Otis Robinson, and Wayne Robinson; a sister Irma Fender and a grandson, Cody Arrowood.
Norman attended Piney Grove Baptist Church in Old Fort. Some of the things he enjoyed doing were reading, and watching westerns. He was also known as an avid hiker. Norman was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are four children, Janet Davis (Nathan), Sharon Helms (Robin), Norma Thomason (Tommy) and Dean Robinson, Jr. (Rebekah); two sisters, Carolyn McMahan (Buddy) and Deb Lewis (Scott); two brothers, Bogan Robinson (Janie) and Jerry Robinson; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Caleb, Erin, Justin, Stephanie, Elayna and Landon; fourteen great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Norman will take place on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at 3:00 pm. at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in Marion with the Rev. Burl Jones officiating. Receiving of friends will take place one hour prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 at the church. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17, Chicago, Il. 60601.
