Norman Taylor

Norman Lee Taylor (Norm) passed away on February 11, 2026 in Meridian, ID at the age of 86. Norm was born on January 1, 1940, to Douglas and Thelma Taylor in Rio Tinto, NV. He spent time as a child in Nevada, Washington and Idaho with most of his time spent in Mountain Home, ID where he met and married Sandra Deckard in December 1960. They had their first daughter, Melissa in 1962.They then moved to Cascade, ID in 1964 and welcomed their second daughter, Melynda that same year. Norm ran the Phillips 66 station during his early years in Cascade. He and Sandra later went their separate ways. Norm remained in Cascade, he went on to deliver the mail, groceries and goods to Yellowpine and places in between. In 1975 Norm began his long tenure working for the City of Cascade where he worked all aspects of public works and parks until his retirement in 2003. After retirement he moved back to Mountain Home to care for his mother.

Norm was preceded in death by his father Douglas Taylor and mother Thelma Wilson. He is survived by his daughters Missy (Scott) Fackrell, Lynn (Kelly) Schmitt, his sister Norma Pounds, four grandkids and five great-grandkids.
