PEKIN ~ Nova Melody Marie Tucker, 11 months old, passed away at 12:32 a.m. Thursday, September 24, 2020 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Nova was born October 25, 2019 in Peoria.
Nova is survived by her father, Austin J. Tucker of Pekin; two siblings, Stefan Davis Harrison VanDuker and Ryan Robert Lee Tucker, both of Pekin; paternal grandparents, Tracy and Tonya Cummins of East Peoria; maternal grandfather, Kenny (Miranda) Lasley of Pekin; paternal great-grandparents, John and Phyllis Cummins of Groveland; maternal great-grandparents William and Jane Lasley of Pekin, her aunt, Michala (Austin Gresham) Cummins of Pekin; two step-aunts, Anja Rogers and Alexa Wesley; one step-uncle, Brandon Wesley; one great aunt, Tammy of Pekin; special family member, Carl VanDuker and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A true daddy’s girl, Nova’s only word was “dada”. She loved listening to “Baby Shark” and was fascinated with colors and frogs. She also enjoyed her bath time and thoroughly loved eating blueberry waffles.
She adored her siblings, especially her big brother, Stefan. She also loved spending time with her grandma.
Nova lit up the room with her presence. She brought happiness to all those who knew her during her short time here on earth. She continued bringing happiness to those who she didn’t know, through donation of her organs with Gift of Hope.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Michael Ritchason will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing of masks will be followed.
Memorial contributions may be given to OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois, 530 Northeast Glen Oak Avenue, Peoria, Illinois 61637.
