Baalmann Mortuary & Crematory - ColbyNyla Jo Domsch, 84, died Friday January 23rd, 2026, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter, Kansas.
Nyla was born May 14, 1941, in Atwood, Kansas. She resided there until she went off to Cosmetology School in Colorado Springs, Co. She married Theodore Domsch in 1961, and they resided in Colby, Kansas. After being married to Ted for 56 years, he passed away in 2018.
Nyla is survived by her brother, Cliff Pennington; sister Delores Harwerth; daughter Kelly; grandchildren, Jordyn, Brandon (Jeannine), Crystin and Ashton (Dusty); great grandchildren, Lane, Bladin, Haley, Theo, Aria, Mav, Ember, Hazel, Conrad, Deke and Dox as well as many beloved family members, nieces, nephews and friends.
Nyla was a beautician for 40 plus years and owned the local Town and County Beauty Salon. She loved making her customers not only look beautiful on the outside but also making them feel great about themselves inside. She cared very deeply for her customers.
In her younger years, Nyla used her talents in her family's band, singing in addition to playing several instruments. She cared deeply about her church, Trinity Lutheran Church, and was very active in the church activities. Besides her musical talents, Nyla was also very good at sewing, crocheting, baking and cooking.
Nyla will be missed as she was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother but she is now with her Lord and Savior.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Colby, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Atwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and mailed to Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701. For information or condolences visit baalmannmortuary.com
