Oberlin "Obie" Villarreal

Oberlin L. "Obie" Villarreal, 81, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 29, 1944 in San Benito, Texas to Candelario and Leandra (Lugo-Salas) Villarreal.
He worked at Lakewood Steel in Birmingham, Oh. for many years, but his true passion was working for several local farmers, surrounded by nature. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, cooking, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Obie was a caring loving partner, father, and Papa that became his best "self" with age.
Obie is survived by his daughters; Neva Houghtlen, Rachel Villarreal, Tracy Martinez, Nora Luna, Elida Davila, Carmela Alomar, sons; Oberlin Houghtlen, Terry Houghtlen, sister: Sylvia Charles, brother, Florentino Villarreal; 25 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Oberlin was preceded in death by his lifetime partner; Bonnie Houghtlen, sisters; Olivia Villarreal, Elvia Godinez, brothers; Noe Villarreal and Edelmiro VillarreL
