Uju was a ray of light and without a doubt one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I vividly remember one of my first days at James Lick Middle School, during PE class, when I handed her a kickball and invited her to play. That act started a friendship that lasted throughout our time at James Lick. I am honored and proud to have co-won the "most likely to lend you a pencil" award in James Lick alongside Uju.
Uju embodied kindness in every single way. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family and to everyone she touched. I miss you. Rest in peace.

Uju brightened my day when she walked into the auditorium after school for rehearsals for the James Lick Middle School Musical Theater shows. She was kind, always asked how others were feeling, and comforted those around her when needed, with no hesitation. She valued hard work, commitment, and practice to become an excellent performer amongst her company of peers.
