In Loving Memory of Octave Jones

Sunrise October 5th 1962

Sunset January 12th 2026

Octave Jones was born to the late Octave Jones and Betty Jean Jones (née McNeil) on October 5th 1962 in Astoria Queens NY. He departed his life on January 12th 2026 at New York Presbyterian Hospital due to a short term illness where he fought to the very end.

Octave Jones A.K.A. OJ grew up in Brooklyn where he attended New York City Public Schools, one of which was OCT for students with special needs. Even though he had challenges, in a household with 8 other siblings he still shared just as many chores, and fought over who had the tv first. He loved going outside with his brothers, and he would always say to his sisters "how you doing gorgeous?" "how you doing beautiful?". Octave loved telling jokes, and making people laugh. He loved watching the old 70's sitcoms like Sanford and son, What's Happening Happy Days, Welcome Back Carter, and The Brady Bunch. Octave's favorite phrase is "Mom Always Say..." He was mama's boy.

Octave was preceded in death by his father Octave Jones and Mother Betty Jean Jones; Step Father Jerome Dennison, one brother Jerome Dennison, and sister Dinah Jones. He leaves to mourn 4 sisters. Betty Miller of Queens NY, Charlene Jones of Brooklyn Ny. Veronica Jones of Norcross GA, Simone Jones of Queens NY, and two brothers; Anthony "Rudy" Jones of Brooklyn NY and Jason Jones of Tom's River NJ. One sister in law Dana Jones of Manchester, NJ, brother in law Anthony Carter Brooklyn NY, and a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews and cousins.

And a Special thanks to Well Life Director Miss Amanda.
