Odelia, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. She was born on a houseboat in Akers, LA and has been a longtime resident of Springfield, Louisiana. Growing up, her parents owned a seafood restaurant, which instilled in her the love of cooking for others. As a proud and dedicated Deacon's wife, she was heavily involved in the 1st Baptist Church of Springfield whether she was cooking or teaching Sunday School. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, boundless kindness, and the way she poured love into everything she did, especially the quilts she stitched. A talented quilter, Odelia was a member of the Quilting Ladies. Her group quilted together and traveled together, creating countless memories. Odelia loved traveling and has spent her life traveling with her family and friends all over the world. Above all, Odelia always put her family first. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be forever missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know and love her.
Odelia is survived by her daughters, Jo Ann deNux (Johnny), Stacy LeBlanc (Barbara Rushing), and Rhonda Schliegelmeyer (John); sisters, Lucille Davidson and Patricia Foster; sister-in-law, Florence Gregoire; grandchildren, Kristian Guidry and Whitney Brunies; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Trahan, Alexis Baio, and Keith Hoyt; long-time friends, Delores Wheat and Katie Meyers and many other friends; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary Pailli for her care, love, and compassion toward Odelia during these last few years and to Key Home for their care.
