At an early age, Odell joined Paradise A.M.E Zion Church Broadnax, VA, where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
She devoted her life to caring for and nurturing children. With a gentle spirit and a heart full of love, she made a lasting impact on every child she cared for. Odell dedication to childcare went far beyond a profession, it was a true calling that touched countless families and left behind a legacy of compassion, guidance, and joy.
Odell was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and girlfriend, who found true joy in her family. She was known for sitting on her porch and talking on the phone with her sisters every day.
Along with her beloved parents, Odell was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Kelly, two sons; James Parham, and Lorenzo Evans and one granddaughter, Katrina White.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children; Thomas Lee Parham (Cindy), Samuel Lee Parham (Hazel) and Tasha Taylor (Dexter) all of Emporia, VA, nineteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, a special friend, Mario Jefferson, four sisters; Elaine Perkins (Royal), Nancy Evans of Lawrenceville, VA, Hazel E. Hicks (James) of Emporia, VA and Pearl Trusty (Milton) of Skippers, VA, two brothers; Dallas Evans Jr. and Richard Lee Evans of Lawrenceville, VA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom loved her dearly.
