Odete Da Silva, 87, of Tulare, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025. She was born on December 1, 1937, in Altares, Terceira, Azores, to Jose and Maria da Conceição Mendes. In 1959, Odete married the love of her life, Alberto Da Silva. Together, they immigrated to the United States in 1961 and later settled in Tulare in 1970, where they built a beautiful life and raised their family. Odete was a devoted homemaker, a masterful seamstress, and a proud retiree after 30 years of dedicated service as a housekeeper with Tulare District Hospital. She was deeply loved and will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and the care she poured into her family, friends and work. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Alberto Da Silva; her parents, Jose and Maria da Conceição Mendes; her sister Alvarina Teixeira of Fairfield, Iowa; brother Manuel Mendes of Tulare; sister Livramento Borges of Tulare; and brother Joseph Mendes of Peabody, MA. Odete is survived by her son, Anthony Da Silva of Tulare; two daughters, Patricia Da Silva of Chicago, Illinois, and Ody Da Silva of Tulare; and two granddaughters, Alexa McDaniel of Visalia and Ariana Gonzalez of Fresno. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will cherish her memory. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Kaweah Health Hospice and Sierra Valley Rehab Center for the compassionate and devoted care shown to Odete.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, 6:00 p.m. at Miller's Tulare Funeral Home

Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, 10:00 a.m. at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 954 South O Street, Tulare, Ca. with burial at Tulare District Cemetery, 900 East Kern Avenue, Tulare
