Odilon "Odie" Supan Sales was born on April 20, 1961, in Tarlac, Philippines, to Fidel Sales Sr. and Natividad Supan. He received his education in the Philippines before immigrating to the United States in 1985. In 1987, he began his career in road construction, a field in which he worked tirelessly for over three decades.
In 1992, Odie met Miriam Weets, and together they built a life in Manning. He embraced her children, Kenneth and Melissa, as his own, forming a loving and devoted family. For more than 34 years, he was a valued employee at Ten Point Construction, where he was known for his dedication and hard work.
Odie had a passion for the game of blackjack, finding excitement in every hand and joy in the camaraderie of the casino. Beyond the cards, he cherished his trips back to the Philippines, where he could reunite with family, reminisce, and revel in the warmth of home. Whether he was testing his luck at the tables or sharing stories with loved ones, Odie had a gift for making every moment special.
Odie passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 63 years, nine months and 17 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Jose, Imelda, Normita and Irma.
