Ofelia Islas Saenz, beloved mother to twelve children, 100 years old, of La Quinta, passed away on December 13, 2024, leaving a void her family cannot fill. She was a very strong woman who was determined to overcome the ailments that plagued her. Ofelia fought hard until her last breath.
Ofelia's daughters, Connie and Delia, took on the task of caring for their mother in her final days. Connie described her mother as a very strong-minded woman that never gave up! Strong because she had six boys and six girls. Both expressed that their mother's mind was intact when they decided to participate in her final adventure and make her as comfortable as they could. Every day was different, some harder than others, as she became very fragile in the end. Connie expressed that she is very proud of herself and Delia for being able to see their mother's journey to the end. Thank you, mom, for giving us the strength to get through this journey. "We love you mom and will miss you very much".
Ofelia was a grandmother and had grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren too numerous to mention. Ofelia babysat some of her grandchildren in their early years of life and they felt the love and support she provided. Ofelia was preceded in death by Luis Saenz (husband), Roland Saenz, Jose Saenz, Rudy Saenz, Andy Saenz, Jorge Saenz, and Araseli Saenz, and is survived by Mari Elena Garcia, Connie Vasquez, Carmen Zavala, Mirtala Guzman, Delia Saenz-Young, and Johnny Saenz, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
