Ola Stafford Obituary

Visit the Smith Family Funeral Homes - Little Rock website to view the full obituary.

Ola Mae Stafford, a beloved mother, grandmother, Gigi, and Mawmaw, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on September 30, 1933, in Edgemont, Arkansas, Ola dedicated her life to her family and exemplified the virtues of love, laughter, and devotion throughout her years.

As a homemaker, Ola took tremendous pride in raising her three sons, John Stafford (Anita), Alan Stafford (Sharon), and Keith Stafford (Deanna). Once her sons were in school, she applied her energies to the workforce, initially working for Sieberts before dedicating a significant portion of her career to the VA Hospital. Her professional life was marked by her strong work ethic and commitment to serving others.

Ola was known for her bubbly personality and infectious laughter, always cherishing the moments spent with her family, particularly during the holidays. Fondly remembered for her culinary talents, she delighted everyone with her versions of Granny Morgan’s orange cake and monkey bread, becoming a cherished figure during family gatherings.

Her hobbies were equally varied and fulfilled, with a passion for sewing and gardening. Ola's creativity extended to crafting beautiful flower arrangements and designing thoughtful gifts, making her a cherished presence in the lives of those around her, who often admired her handiwork. Remarkably, she remained an independent spirit, driving until the age of 90.

Faith played a crucial role in Ola's life, with church and family standing at the forefront of her priorities. Ola was a founding member of Agape Church in Little Rock and was a true southern, Christian lady. Her warmth and kindness created a welcoming atmosphere for family and friends alike, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will not be forgotten.

Ola is survived by her three sons, their spouses, and a loving troupe of grandchildren: John Stafford, Jennifer Harrington (Joe), Sarah Martin (Cameron), Linda Peery (Dylan), Joshua Stafford, and Matthew Stafford. Her great-grandchildren—Hannah, Emery Lynn, Avery, Graham, Colter, and Stetson—will surely carry forward the values she instilled in her family.

She also leaves behind siblings Patricia Caldwell and Willie Morgan, sister-in-law Evelyn Koper, and a host of other family and friends who were fortunate to know her vibrant spirit. Preceding her in death is her loving husband of 59 years, Floyd E. Stafford; parents, John and Lena Morgan, and her beloved granddaughter Mandy Stafford.

Visitation will take place on November 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, both at the Smith Little Rock Funeral Home (8801 Knoedl Court). Burial will be held at Shiloh Crossroads Cemetery in Greers Ferry, Arkansas, at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VTN Television.

The family would like to thank Laura, Cheryl, Rebecca, Krista, and Lavonia with Life Touch Hospice for the care they provided. Ola Mae Stafford will be deeply missed by all who loved her, but her spirit and the memories made will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Pallbearers will be John Stafford, Alan Stafford, Keith Stafford, John F. Stafford, Joshua Stafford and Joe Harrington.
