In Loving Memory of Olan Deamon Brooks Jr

Olan Brooks Jr, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on July 24, 1947, in Jacksonville, Florida. After high school, Olan served in the U.S. Army and was wounded in Vietnam. He went on to build a successful career with the U.S. Postal Service, where his unwavering work ethic and dedication led him to become Regional Manager before retiring.
Beyond his professional life, Olan had a deep passion for working on cars, playing his guitar, and found joy and peace tending to his beloved horses. These simple pleasures reflected his hands-on nature and love for the outdoors.
He was survived by his cherished brothers, Johnny, Roger, Keith, sisters, Mary, Patty, Fay, son, Olan, daughter, Priscilla, and grandchildren, Brianna, Bobby, Savanna, Matthew, Wyatt, Lilian, and great-grandchild, Talia whose love and memories he held close to his heart throughout his life.
Olan will be fondly remembered for his steady work ethic, deep love for his family, and the quiet strength he carried through life's challenges. He leaves behind loved ones and a lasting legacy of devotion and resilience that will be honored by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend.
