Mrs. Olave C. Bukoski, 91 of Ubly, passed away Tuesday evening, August 8, 2023 at the Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe following a short illness.
Olave was born on November 1, 1931 in Detroit to the late Leo and Matilda (Olshove) Osantowske. She married Robert Bukoski on May 12, 1956 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Port Sanilac. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1998.
Olave was one of thirteen children. She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Parish in Ubly where she was a member of the Christian Mother Confraternity. Olave was a devoted catholic who prayed all the time. She was also a member of the TVO Ladies Auxiliary. Olave loved polka music and attended many dances in her precious lifetime.
Olave is survived by four sons, Charles of Deford, Daniel of Oxford, Thomas and Dale, both of White Lake; one daughter, Donna (Robert) Harris of Verona; eleven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Christina Ulfig and Grace Willis.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. John Catholic Church, Good Shepherd Parish in Ubly. Rev. Nate Harburg, pastor will officiate. Olave will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Robert, in the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Ubly.
Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Friday from 2:00-8:00 pm and Saturday at church from 9:00-9:45 am. There will be a parish vigil service Friday evening at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
