Oleksandr Sytnikov

Norfolk - Oleksandr Sytnikov, born on May 30, 1939, in Kyiv, Ukraine, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025, in Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of 86.
A devoted and hardworking man, Oleksandr dedicated his life to providing for his family and perfecting his craft as a metal worker at a machinery factory. His commitment to his work was matched only by his love for fishing, which brought him immense joy and peace throughout his life.
Oleksandr's journey took a significant turn in February 2024, when he left Ukraine and made his home in Norfolk, Virginia, seeking new opportunities and experiences in the United States. Despite the change in scenery, he remained a steadfast, diligent individual who embraced the challenges and adventures that his new life presented.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Liubov (Romanenko) Sytnikova, as well as his parents, Vassiliy and Tatiana (Valikdan) Sytnikov. Oleksandr is survived by his son, Igor Sytnikov, along with many friends who will miss his warm presence and vibrant spirit dearly.
Though no formal services are planned at this time, Oleksandr's cremains will be returned to his homeland, Ukraine, where he will find his final resting place.
