In Loving Memory of Olga Porter Aguilar 04/21/1940 - 11/04/2025
Olga Porter Aguilar, 85, of
San Antonio, Texas, became present with the Lord on November 4th surrounded by her family and loved ones.
A woman of unwavering faith, gentle strength, and deep devotion, Olga's life was a beautiful reflection of God's grace. She accepted Christ as her Savior in 1989 at Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, and loved the Lord all of her days-joyfully testifying of His goodness and salvation to everyone she met.
Olga was preceded in death by her beloved son Valentin Aguilar III (Melissa); her parents Pedro and Maria Porter; her brothers Frank Porter, Carlos Porter, and Pete Porter; and her sisters Aurora Abundis, Elida Morris and Norma Vinton.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Valentin G. Aguilar Jr., her loving children David Aguilar (Kasondra) and Sharon Lopez (Juan); and her cherished grandchildren Heather Williams, Amelia Aguilar, Madeline Aguilar, Allison Lopez, Hailey Aguilar, Luke Lopez, Noah David Aguilar, and Lola Lopez; along with her only great-grandchild Leighton Williams. She is also survived by her best-friends and sisters Emma Hernandez and Irma Perfecto, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored her.
Olga graduated from Lanier High School and dedicated her early years to being a stay-at-home mother. Later, she went on to successfully operate her own insurance agency, greatly enjoying the professional relationships she cultivated over the years with whom she enjoyed lively conversation. After selling her agency and unable to be still she greatly enjoyed serving as a substitute teacher and being a part of the SAISD community, particularly Arnold Elementary where she made life-long friends in Angie Flores and Miroslava Konkrite. Another dear friend was Estella Naranjo. She was an avid reader but her greatest gift was loving others with her cooking.
She had a gift for making people feel cared for through her cooking. If she knew someone was stopping by, she'd quickly put together a meal or dessert without hesitation. Feeding her family and friends was one of the ways she showed her deep and resounding love.
She treasured every moment with her husband and children, but especially her grandchildren-her greatest earthly joy. In addition to her love for cooking with them she loved taking them to Kiddie Park, the San Antonio Zoo, The Witte Museum and trips to Port Aransas. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye.
Memorial service to be held Saturday, November 15th at Alamo Heights Baptist Church 6501 Broadway St
San Antonio, Tx at 10:00 AM with reception to follow. A private burial service will take place in San Antonio at a later date.
