It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Olga Andreyeva on October 18, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. A visitation is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Commerce Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45am. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Cumby, Texas, and a reception will follow the interment at 2060 Danbury Dr., Rockwall, Tx 75032.

Born on January 19, 1943, Olga carried throughout her life the legacy of her beloved parents, Anna and Pyotr Andreyev, who held above all the virtue of kindness, open-heartedness and love of people. Up to her last days, she was deeply worried about her friends, her students, her neighbors, and anyone she thought was going through hard times. She never lost her child-like curiosity about the world and its wonders, and her greatest passions were reading, traveling, art, music, hiking, and gardening, to name a few.

Olga graduated from Kharkiv State University in Ukraine with a Ph.D. in Linguistics. While an undergraduate student of Foreign Languages, she was selected to work for the prestigious State Intourist Agency as an interpreter - a position of high stress and responsibility in the Soviet Union, where communications with international tourists were strictly monitored by the KGB authorities. She loved sharing anecdotes of those interesting times at the Intourist, which earned her high professional praise. The bulk of her career, however, was spent as a Professor of English at Kharkiv State University and Kharkiv University of Arts, where she also served as a Chair of Foreign Languages Department for 15 years. She dedicated her life to her students, not only teaching them language, but taking a sincere interest in their lives and finding words of support and encouragement that touched their hearts. Hundreds of them now grieve the loss of the Teacher who became a life-long friend. Even after her retirement, Olga volunteered as an ESL instructor at the Rockwall Public Library, refusing to give up work until her last days.

Olga was a passionate Ukrainian who tirelessly served her native country and promoted its culture in the United States. She deeply lamented Russia’s war against Ukraine and the fact that she was never able to see her homeland and loved ones again. She was also highly dedicated to her family, her daughter, her grandchildren and to her husband Oleg Fedorkov, with whom she built a life full of joy, love, and generosity.

Olga’s legacy is carried on by her daughter Irina Rodriguez, her son-in-law, Robert Rodriguez, and her grandchildren, Gabriela Anya and Diego Andrei Rodriguez. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Serving as pallbearers are Robert Rodriguez, Diego Rodriguez, Oleg Fedorkov, and Ngondi Kamatuka. Honorary pallbearer is Kenneth “Rock” Clinton.
