Olga Stefanic

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Olga Stefanic. A beloved aunt and friend, who peacefully passed away at the age of 92 on October 12, 2025.
Born on May 17, 1933 in New York City, Olga was a production manager in the newspaper industry. She began her professional journey at the International Herald Tribune at the age of 19 where she enjoyed a successful career for 44 years. Her colleagues, many who became life long friends, remember her not just for her professionalism but for her kindness, cheerful spirit and infectious laugh.
Outside of her remarkable career, Olga had a zest for travel, embarking on countless adventures around the world. From the streets of Paris, Greece and Croatia to the serene landscapes of New England and the Caribbean, she enjoyed experiencing new places with family and friends.
A lifelong fan of the New York Mets, Olga was often found cheering them on from her seat at Shea Stadium or from the comfort of her home in Queens. Her love for the Mets became a beloved part of her identity.
Throughout Olga's life, she amassed a cherished collection of friends. Their bonds were built by a genuine connection that spanned years, shaped memories, and created a second family. Olga considered them a treasured part of her life, and in return, they were blessed to have been a part of hers. To these lifelong friends-thank you for the joy, comfort, and steadfast presence you brought into Olga's world.
Olga leaves behind her nieces, Danielle Oglevee (Ethan Oglevee), Deven Stefanic, nephew David Stefanic (Kim Stefanic), sister-in-law Elizabeth Stefanic and a host of grand nieces and nephews, Lizzy, Daniel, Joseph, Owen and Abigail, who will cherish her memory and the love she bestowed upon them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominic Stefanic and Josephine Hruska Stefanic, sister Emily Stefanic and brother Edward Stefanic.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 17 at St. Bartholomew's Church in Elmhurst, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Olga's legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, the love she gave and most of all, in the beautiful smile she shared with all.
