We gather today to celebrate the extraordinary life of Olga Ugarte, affectionately known to us all as Mamita Olga. Born on June 4, 1929, in the vibrant city of Lima, Peru, she infused the world with her warmth until her peaceful passing at her home in Davie, Florida, on May 27, 2024. Mamita Olga's journey was one marked by the joy of simple pleasures, a testament to her kind, wise, and gentle spirit.
Mamita Olga's life was a canvas painted with love for the natural world, her hands often tenderly tending to her plants, coaxing flowers into bloom with the same care she nurtured her relationships. Her kitchen was a haven of aromatic wonders, where her playful wit and culinary prowess combined to create not just meals but memories. Each dish she crafted was a thread woven into the fabric of happy times, a legacy of love that we will carry in our hearts forever.
A matriarch in every sense, guiding her children Olga, Carmen, Jose and she held in tender memory her Daughter Silvia Jimenez, who passed away. Mamita Olga's family-oriented nature drew people to her. Her legacy blossomed further with her grandchildren: Sharon, Aileen, Alex, Mark, Carmen Rosa, David, Joey and Nelsito and great grandchildren: Marlo, Tania, Liam, and Luke. Her home is always echoing with laughter, lively conversations, and great food. She had a magical way of turning ordinary moments into milestones, her presence a reassuring beacon of happiness. Her wisdom was a guiding light, her advice sought by many, for she possessed the rare ability to listen with an open heart and speak with gentle candor.
Today, as we bid farewell to Mamita Olga, let us not dwell on the void left behind but instead embrace the indelible imprint she has left on each of us. Her love, a perennial bloom in the gardens of our souls, reminds us to cherish the beauty of life, to nurture our connections, and to face each day with a kind and gentle heart. Mamita Olga's story is not one of goodbye but a beautiful reminder that life, like her cherished plants, flourishes with love and care. Let us honor her memory by living fully, laughing often, and loving without reserve.
