Olive Elizabeth Hackwith, better known as 'Liz', passed away on February 23, 2026 at Arcadia Care at Kewanee in Kewanee, IL, surrounded by family. She was 100 years and four days of age.

Liz was born on February 19, 1926 in Kewanee, IL the daughter of John Olaf and Christinia (Ross) Lindberg. She married J. Wayne Miller in 1944 and together they raised four children Roger (Carol) of Bradford, Nancy Verbout of Gibson City, Gary (Lorene) of Kewanee, and Steve (Janice) of Hanna City.

Liz later married Phil Hackwith in 1977. He preceded her in death, as did her son Gary Miller and an infant son Bobby. She was also preceded in death by one sister Margrete VanPelt as well as her parents.

She is survived by her children and one brother, John R. (Norma Jean) Lindberg of Dehinda, along with eight grandchildren;13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Liz graduated from La Fayette High School in 1944, attended and graduated from Kewanee Business College, and in later years worked for Lutheran Social Services. She was a longtime member of Boyd's Grove United Methodist Church of Bradford, was a 50 plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary #445; where she spent many hours sewing quilts, stockings, and many other articles for veterans. Liz also spent just as much time with the United Methodist Women's Boyd's Grove rug rags projects.

Funeral services are pending. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Burial of cremated remains will be in Toulon Cemetery in Toulon, IL at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Boyd's Grove United Methodist Church of Bradford or your charity of choice.
