Olive Beth (Moyes) Smith passed away on October 31, 2025 peacefully in her home in Pintura, UT, at the age of 87. Beth was born on April 13, 1938, in Pima, Arizona, to Joseph and Olive Moyes. Her family later moved to Hurricane, Utah, where she met the love of her life, Jesse Smith (W7RVJ). The two were married on July 2, 1954.
Beth and Jesse made their home in Henderson, Nevada, where they raised their family. After retiring in 1996, they settled in Pintura, Utah, where they enjoyed their remaining years together.
Beth was a devoted homemaker, best known for her famous cinnamon rolls, Christmas candy and home-canned goods. She cherished her morning coffee with fried Spam and her afternoon Pepsi. Beth's warmth, kindness and sense of humor touched everyone she met.
She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Jesse Smith; her daughter, Penny Smith; her grandson, Anthony Paonessa; her parents, Joseph and Olive Moyes; her brothers, Earl, Marvin and Merlin Moyes; her sisters, Billie Slack and Roseanne Kromrei; and her son-in-law; Anthony Paonessa.
Beth is survived by her children Laura Paonessa, William Smith, Jessie Stinnett (Larry Stinnett), Lisa Gruber (Rick Gruber); brother, Joseph Moyes; sisters, Wanda Kromrei and Vonda Morton, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
A graveside service will be held on November 8, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Hurricane City Cemetery.
