To the family and to Altamease espically, for the loving care you gave your father, please know that my heart hurts at the loss of a very dear and special friend. Oliver was a great friend to all who knew him here on Church Hill. We will miss his wit and knowledge. God Bless all of you left behind.

To Charmaine, Dale, & Mrs. Copeland and other family members,

I just met Mr. Copeland for the first time in August. He seemed to be such a distinguished gentleman. Please accept my family's and my condolences for your loss. May God watch over you during this difficult time.

I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Copeland's passing. I only knew him for a few years in the nineties but he left a lasting impression. He was a great and interesting man, and the world is darker without him in it.

Oliver was my daddy's first cousin. The last time I saw him was at a basketball game last winter - Petersburg High vs. Highland Springs. I'm so happy my family and I just happened to take a seat right in front of him and "Doc". It was a good time for us and a good night, especially for HSHS!
As you remember your husband, daddy, granddaddy, brother and as we all remember our cousin, let us thank God for the 81 years he lived; let us remember the sense of family he held close...let us remember the good times as we honor his memory.
