Olivia Maxine Aguirre

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Olivia Maxine Aguirre, age 66, who passed away on April 5, 2023. Olivia was born on October 20, 1955, to Joe and Martha Romero. She grew up in Walsenburg until she married her husband of 47 years, Alfonso Aguirre and made Pass Creek her home. Together they raised 3 kids and were blessed with 10 grandchildren.
Olivia was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was famous for her cooking, especially her homemade tortillas and tamales. She enjoyed being outside on the farm, cooking, canning, and seeing grandchildren.
Olivia is survived by her husband Alfonso Aguirre Sr., children Sarah (Tim) Cordova, Alfonso Aguirre Jr., and Samantha Alaniz and grandchildren Troy, Kelsey, Kaelye, Alfonso III, Nanette and Valentina Aguirre, Joseph and Cicero Alaniz and Isabelle Cordova. She is also survived by her mother Martha Romero, 6 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Joe Romero and grandson Tyler Aguirre.
A memorial service will be held on April 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Boies-Ortega Funeral Home Chapel, 115 East 5th Street in Walsenburg, Colorado. Arrangements made by Boies-Ortega Funeral Home.
