Mrs. Olivia “Libby” Kahl, age 77, of Franklin, KY, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at her residence.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.
Libby was born on October 25, 1947 in Franklin, KY to the late Notley Cummings and the late Mary Russell “Hut” Cummings.
She is survived by her spouse of 36 years, Terry Kahl of Franklin, KY; two daughters, Michelle Allen (Chris) of Franklin, KY and Crystal Cummings of Franklin, KY; four grandchildren, Tylar Allen, Charles Quinton Powell (Erica), Victoria Alamani (George) and Johnathan Poole (Britney); seven great-grandchildren, Connor Powell, Heavenly Burgett, Nathaniel Poole, Jackson Poole, Edward Poole, Kaimana Alamani and Charlie Rose Powell; and several cousins.
Libby was a member of Sulphur Spring Baptist Church. She was a 1965 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School. Libby was a sales associate with Meijer for twelve years. She was the district training leader with Boy Scouts of America, former secretary of Simpson County Fair Board, former Department of Transportation Officer, former Franklin-Simpson Band Booster and also a former paraeducator for Franklin-Simpson High School and Middle School. Libby also enjoyed ghost hunting.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be expressed in Libby’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 1006 Seng Ave., Franklin, KY 42134, attn: Marie Pitts. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
