Olivia Vasquez, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed from this life on Monday, September 29, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on April 16, 1947, in San Benito, Texas, Olivia's vibrant spirit and tireless dedication to her family and community defined her life.

A devoted parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Olivia was known for her unwavering faith and commitment to service. She ensured her daughters and grandchildren understood the importance of their faith, often bringing them to church services. Olivia devoted herself to feeding those in need every Sunday after Mass, exemplifying her selflessness and compassion.

For over 45 years, Olivia served as a school bus driver, first serving a school in Aurora, Illinois, then in Harlingen, Texas, next on to San Benito, Texas, after that in San Antonio, Texas, and finishing her career at Greene County Tech in Paragould. Her love for children shone brightly in her work, and she took pride in ensuring the safety and well-being of every student entrusted to her care. In addition to driving, she generously offered her time to care for the elderly, showcasing her deep compassion and loving nature.

Olivia found joy in the little things, spending numerous mornings at the Waffle & Pancake House surrounded by her cherished breakfast coffee group. She relished indulging in manicures and pedicures and took delight in creating arts and crafts, activities that brought her immense joy.

Olivia is survived by her beloved daughters, Evalina Garza of Paragould, Elma Liza Gonzalez of San Benito, Ernestina Fuentes of Paragould, and Elisabet (Juan) Hernandez of Paragould; 19 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Jose Sanchez and Jose Ramirez; sister, Eva Bousono, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and community service.

Olivia is preceded in death by her parents, Geronimo Sanchez and Juanita Reyes Sanchez; great granddaughter, Laekyn Jade Cole; sister, Olga Puga; and brother, Ruben Ramirez.

A Rosary will begin on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church. A visitation will follow until 12:30. Olivia will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas, where her legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Olivia Vasquez will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. May she rest in peace.
