I miss you Omar Sharif. You were a big part of my childhood, even if it was just watching you in your great movies like Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, and Funny Girl. I always thought you were the most handsome man I had ever seen. I often think of your son, Tarek. He must miss you terribly. I hope you are doing okay, Tarek. You can be forever proud of your father. He always displayed the utmost class and refinement you don't find anymore. Thank God we are able to memorialize Omar through his movies by watching them again and again.

I am sorry for your loss. Omar, was such a great person, he will live on in our memories forever.

So glad he had the time to fulfill the wish to be with family as he aged after an active movie presence All will recall him with admiration for the roles he took and did with an intuition and performan to be admired. In a more recent interview, he spoke of doing more in life of import. The arts require one's youth. He found a greater balance later, and hopefully both Mr. Sharif and his family met in the place where caring and leisure were fused with satisfaction, understanding and love.

i am an armenian living in egypt and i had the privilege to have seen a lot of his egyptian films that i loved more than his international career. dr. zhivago was banned during a time and i first saw it in the lebanon. the passion and love he gave in that film simply jumped out of the screen with an incredible chemistry with julie christie. he was definitely a gentleman definitely a handsome humble one and definitely eternally a prince. rip dear sir and my sincere condolences to his family.

Omar El-Sherif as I grew up watching him in Arabic speaking Egyptian films was as charming and talented as I saw him later in western movies. He was original and rare talent with a suave and voice of a proud Arab. His elegance and off and on screen presence touched so many lives through his movies and storytelling. He loved Egypt and likes to call himself the son of Alexandria. He will be terribly missed in these turbulent times. Deeply missedforever remembered.
