Onda Jeannette Schultz

Onda Jeannette Redden Schultz, 96,  of St. Marys and formerly of Wapakoneta and Moulton passed away January 25, 2026, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys 
Onnie, as she was known by her legions of friends, was born August 31, 1929, in Belle Center to the late Opal (Harrod) and Milton Redden. 
She married Kermit Schultz on December 26th, 1949, at the Belle Center Methodist Church. "Kermie" passed away on June 28th, 2009. 
Also preceding Onnie in death were son Douglas L. Schultz and infant son Stephen Schultz; step-father Frank Miracle; brother Gene Redden and sister-in-law Marilyn Redden; step brothers Don (Betty) Miracle and Dale (Rose) Miracle, and brothers-in-law Roland (Dolores) Schultz and Willis Schultz. 
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends, including special friend JoAnn Bambauer who provided her so much care and friendship in the last years of her life. 
Onnie operated her own beauty shop for 45 years while also getting Doug -who was legally blind - to Dayton every Monday and picking him up every Friday after his week was done operating the Snack Bar at the Safety Building, downtown Dayton. Many times she would get a call at 6 a.m. from Doug that someone hadn't come to work and she would drive down and help out. 
She and Kermie had a love of harness racing, and she performed a lot of the care duties for their horses as they raced at county fairs across the state for four decades. 
Later in life, she assisted for 16 years at the God's Storehouse food pantry in Wapakoneta. As a result of her help there and other things she did in the community she was named Ourstanding Senior Citizen of Auglaize County in 2018. 
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Auglaize County Horseman's Association. 
Funeral services will be held at a later date at the Wapak First Church. Burial of her cremated remains will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to God's Storehouse or Grand Lake Hospice which provided Onnie such great care and comfort.
