Opal Thompson Obituary
She was the daughter of the late Burman Hamrick and Annie Bell Hamrick. Opal was a native of Rutherford county. She was a member of Gray's Creek Baptist Church. She liked to raise flowers and loved to sew.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Alton Thompson; Sister Martha Boone; Brothers Paul Hamrick and George Hamrick
Survivors include, one son, Gary Thompson and his companion Regina Ledford, one sister, Irene Thomas, two grandchildren, John Thompson, and Maria Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2022 at McMahan's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Gray's Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Bryan Ezell officiating. Interment will be at Sandy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. An online guest register is available at www.mcmahansfuneralhome.com. McMahan's Funeral Home & Cremation Services in charge of arrangements.

Precious Aunt Opal was an absolute jewel! Lover of the outdoors, caregiver, cook and wonderful Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend to many. She was truly selfless and generous. She was a one-in-a-million! She will be missed by many!
