Mrs. Ora Webber Graham Thompson, 94, homemaker and longtime resident of Bear Creek Pike, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with The Reverend Jess Reeves officiating. A private graveside service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Churchyard at Ashwood. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols. Memorials may be made to Maury County Boys & Girls Club, 210 West Eighth Street, Columbia, TN 38401 or St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 311 West Seventh Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Memphis native was the daughter of the late Ralph Graham and Ora Webber Graham. She was married to Joe Frank Thompson who preceded her in death on January 13, 1975. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Memphis State Teachers College. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Columbia Garden Club, Quaestio Club, St. Peter's Women of the Church, American Field Service, and was on the Board of Directors of the Maury County Boys & Girls Club. Because of her great love for her land, she entrusted her 103 acre Osceola Farm to Land Trust of Tennessee for preservation. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Joe Frank & Nancy Thompson, Jr. of Columbia; son-in-law, Rodger Dale Dean of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; three sisters, Emma Dillon of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mary Schulz of Somerville, Tennessee; Martha Gilley of Atlanta, Georgia; one brother, Edgar (Joan) Graham of Memphis; three grandchildren, Joe Frank Thompson, III of Ridgewood, New Jersey; Jeanne Louise Thompson of Los Angeles, California; John Alan Dean of Atlanta, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Anne Thompson Dean; two sisters, Elizabeth Viner and Lorena Hurst; and two brothers, Joseph Graham and Ralph Graham. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
