Orie Roorda Obituary
Orie worked for the City of Holland as a sexton for Pilgrim Home and Graafschap Cemeteries for 25 years. He was a well-loved, generous, strong, and a genuine man. He may have been gruff, but he was a caring individual. His family loved him, and he will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gerda Roorda.
He is survived by his children, Donna Lee Seeback, Kelly Ann Shelton; grandchildren, Chase and Julie Christman, Wesley and Courtney Christman, Jacob and Savanah Shelton, Kyrstina Shelton; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Sidney and Geziena Roorda; sister, Glennys Sytsma; sister, Barbara and Doug Kolk; and his cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Visitation with the family is 11:00-11:45 am on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. Holland, MI 49423.
Funeral services are at Noon that same day also at Langeland Sterenberg Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Biedler officiating. The service will be recorded and be posted on this site to view.
Burial to take place in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
