Orlanda "Landee" GreyBear, Tasiyagmunka Dowan Wiyan Pi (Singing Meadowlark Woman) age 47, passed away on February 29, 2024.
Landee was born on May 8, 1976 in Williston, ND to Oral GreyBear, Sr. and Linda Adams. Landee was raised by her aunt Coretta and uncle Floyd Youngman.
She graduated from Poplar High School in 1994, then she moved to Devils Lake where she then made it her home. Landee met and married Jaime Burdick, Sr. in 1997. To this union they had 2 sons: Jaime Burdick, Jr. and Brennen Burdick, 1 daughter Kashaye Burdick. They later divorced but remained friends. In 2012, she met Montee Nelson then down the road she gave birth to her last baby Na'Taye Nelson in 2014.
Landee enjoyed listening to music, visiting with her friends and family. She loved to gamble, play cards, play Yahtzee, bingo; loved to watch her daughters dance in the powwows. She also loved to visit with her best friend Stephanie Jetty. Her favorite NFL team was the Dallas Cowboys.
Landee was employed at various jobs in Spirit Lake. She always traveled back to visit friends and family. She also enjoyed traveling to powwows. Landee had a very crazy sense of humor, always can make someone smile or laugh. Landee grew up traditional, went to sweats, ceremonies and the Chelsea Sundance. Landee spent her last moments with her kids and grandkids; Ameriah, Zakiah, Ashtynn, Ky'Leigha and Quinnleigh.
Landee was survived by her children, Jaime (Tyla) Burdick, Jr., Brennen (Melissa) Burdick, Kashaye Burdick and Na'Taye Nelson; adopted son Dakota Bull; her grandchildren Ameriah, Zakiah, Ashtynn, Ky'Leigha and Quinnleigh; brothers Oral (Carrie) GreyBear, Jr., O.J. GreyBear; sisters Angie (Tony) Shields, Andrea Youngman; adopted sisters Kelly and Cerise GreyBear; aunt Vivian; cousins Lizzan, Coretta, Abe Jr., Melvin Jr., Bentley Sr., Loren Sr., Myron Sr., Lori Jo, D'Anna, Krissandra and Jordan GreyBear, Mike and Judith "BJ" Olson; nephews Ian, Rylan, Ryder, Sage, Malachi; niece Kiah (June) GreyBear; grandma Germaine Brady of New Town, ND and extended families near and far. Landee is preceded in death by her parents, brother Anthony FourStar; nephew Nathaniel and Elijah GreyBear, Galen A. GreyBear, niece Jazlyn GreyBear; aunts Vina Mae Longtree, Coretta Youngman, Phyllis GreyBear, Judy GreyBear, Ava Old-Rock Martin, Lorraine GreyBear; uncles Melvin GreyBear, Sr., Abraham "Judge" GreyBear, Sr., Galen M. GreyBear, Floyd Youngman; cousins Laurie GreyBear-Youngman, Tanya GreyBear, Denise Longtree, Ava GreyBear, Ron Brown, Vonnie Brown, Valerie Blackdog, Jewel and Colette GreyBear, Rainy Old Rock; granddaughter Landrea Youngman; sister-in-law Kellie Jo; adopted son Ashton Thompson; adopted grandpa Soloman Sherman; good friend Olivia Longtree.
