Orlando Christopher Lucero, 45, beloved husband, son, grandson, nephew, brother, and loyal friend, passed away on Saturday, January 10th, 2026. Orlando will be remembered for his deep love of the great outdoors and his remarkable skill as a talented huntsman and fisherman. Nature was his sanctuary—a place where his quiet strength and steady presence shined brightest. He found joy in life’s simplest pleasures, never needing more than fresh air, open sky, and the company of those he loved.
Above all, Orlando cherished time spent with family and friends. Sharing his passion for the outdoors—whether through a day spent hunting, fishing, or simply sitting together beneath the trees—was one of his greatest joys. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for the people in his life created memories that will be held close forever.
Those who knew Orlando will carry forward his appreciation for nature, his gentle spirit, and his way of making every moment feel meaningful. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he gave so freely.
He is survived by his wife, Kiva Lucero, his mother, Christina Lucero, his father, Dennis Lucero, and his grandfather, Henry Perea. He also leaves his cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and sisters. Orlando was preceded in death by his Nana, Patricia Perea.
Catholic services will be held Friday, January 23rd, 2026, at the San Ysidro Catholic Church in San Ysidro, N.M., with rosary at 9:00 A.M. followed by funeral mass at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque, N.M., at 12:30.
