Orva "Bonnie" Kahn, age 81 of Cannon Falls, died at her home on Thursday evening, February 12, 2026.
Orva Elvinie "Bonnie" (Hopkins) Kahn was born on August 7, 1944 in St. Francis County, Arkansas, the daughter of George and Cora (Knight) Hopkins. She graduated from Central High School in 1962 and went on to Globe Business College.Throughout her working career, she was a secretary at Paul J. Liebelt, Inc., executive secretary at the American Legion of Iowa, and executive secretary at Arkansas Telecommunications Association, retiring in May, 2000. She had served with the VFW Auxiliary Department of Iowa.
She married Frederick Kahn on October 7, 1989 in Minneapolis, and they were members of First Baptist Church in Cannon Falls.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred on March 31, 2017; and siblings, Kathleen Roberts, Carolyn Swanson, Eula Studler, Cora Lee Smith, and Laveda Norris.
She is survived by her children, Jill Johnson of Cannon Falls and Daniel (Noel) Johnson of Florence, AZ; step daughter, Valerie Kahn of Bloomington; grandchildren, Chad (Sarah) Johnson, Justine (Trevor) Trokey, Jeremiah Johnson, and Tatiana Johnson; 8 great grandchildren; and siblings, Doskie Krause of Arkansas and George Hopkins of Canada; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 11 am, with visitation from 10-11 am, at the First Baptist Church, Cannon Falls. This service will be live-streamed and available to watch below. Interment will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Active urn bearer will be Chad Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to First Baptist Church, Cannon Falls.
