Orville Oliver Erickson was born November 9, 1933, in
Iron River, Michigan, the son of Oliver and Alice Erickson. He went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2023, in his home, after a brief but intense battle with esophageal cancer.
Orville graduated from Iron River High School and went on to serve 4 years in the Unites States Navy as an operating room technician. On August 9, 1969, he married Aleta Marie Petts. Once he retired from selling forestry and heavy equipment, they lived in
Iron River, Michigan;
Seattle, Washington;
Johnstown, Pennsylvania; and for the last 26 years here in
Waterloo, Iowa.
Orville was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Artis (Anderson) and a brother Dwight. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Aleta, his son Orville James (Jennifer) Erickson, his three grandchildren Mikayla Noelting (Taylin), Marissa Erickson, and Taylor Erickson, as well as 2 great-grandchildren Adriana and Ella.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at Greenhill Baptist Church in Cedar Falls. Visitation 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the church.
