Oscar “Yogi” Trevino, 66, of Uvalde passed away on March 4, 2024, at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital in San Antonio.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 6 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Cremation is under the direction of Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. Interment of ashes will be held at a later date.He was born on February 17, 1958, in Uvalde, Texas to Lydia (Flores) and Juan P. Trevino.
He is survived by his son, Oscar Trevino, Jr. of Uvalde; four sisters, Alicia Mena and husband, Johnny, Sr. of Uvalde, Alma Jean Dorantes and husband, Frank of Beaumont and Lydia Martinez and husband, Elias of Uvalde, Emma Gillen of San Antonio; six brothers, Juan Torres Jr. and companion, Ann Santos of Uvalde, Ricardo Trevino and wife, Blanca of Uvalde, David Trevino and wife, Rosa of Abilene, Kansas and Danny Trevino and wife, Maria of Kileen, Texas, Freddy Villarreal and wife, Evangelina of Liberty, Texas and Arturo Villarreal of Uvalde; grandchildren, Justin Trevino and Dora Elia Trevino and husband, Steven Guedea; great grandchildren, Axel Lee Trevino, Camila Syliva Trevino, Nico Matthew Trevino, Steven Guedea, Jr., and Santino Guedea; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dora Elia Trevino; parents; sister, Stella Velasquez, four brothers, Dionicio Trevino, Venancio Trevino, Rodolfo Trevino and Richard Trevino.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Mena, II, Steven Mena, Sr., Jesus A. Flores, III, Xavier Alvarez, Ricardo Trevino, II, and Rudy Villarreal.
Honorary pallbearer will be David Trevino, Jr.
