It is with great respect and admiration that I remember Dr. Osiefield Anderson-a truly remarkable educator, mentor, and veteran. His dedication to teaching mathematics at Florida A&M University for over five decades, even into his 90s, is an inspiration to all who knew him. He was also a great friend of my dad for many years and would often share thoughtful educational guidance or a meaningful poem. His service to our country and his community exemplifies a life well lived with honor, passion, and kindness. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who were touched by his wisdom and generosity. May his legacy continue to inspire future generations. You were definitely one of a kind! So Mote It Be Brother!

I taught mathematics at FAMU for 42 years (from 1971 through 2013) and interacted with Dr. Anderson almost every day. It was an honor to have known Dr. Anderson. He was very instrumental in my career development at FAMU. Even after I retired and moved from Tallahassee, I stayed in touch with him. He was truly a blessing to the Department of Mathematics at FAMU and a leader in the Tallahassee community.
Sincerely,
Wendell Motter

Dr. Anderson made use of his class time to teach life lessons. Every discussion he would have with us, every poem he would recite was passionate because he believed in the future success of his students beyond the subject matter. At the time I didn´t know we would become fraternity brothers or share masonry. Peace to you and your family.

Dr. Anderson was truly a unique teacher. He demanded steadfast discipline, attention to detail, yet was caring enough to care for a student finding his way. How do I know? I was one such student. He had a great hand in making me to be the formidable Rattler I am today. Rest in peace Doc. You deserve it after a life well lived.
