It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Osmant Kelly Pyle, Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, who passed away on May 24, 2025 at the age of 82.
Kelly was married to the love of his life, Patti, for 33 years. Together, they built a beautiful life grounded in love, laughter, and family.
He served for 32 years with the Pomona/ LA County Fire Departments, where he rose to the rank of Captain. His dedication to protecting others and his leadership left a lasting impact on the community and his fellow firefighters.
A proud supporter of Alabama football, Kelly could often be found cheering on the Crimson Tide with unmatched enthusiasm. But more than anything, he found his greatest joy in his family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Kelly will be remembered for his strength, compassion, and unwavering love for those closest to him. He leaves behind a legacy of service, devotion, and deep family bonds.
He is survived by his wife Patti; son Osmant Kelly (Phyllis) Pyle III; daughters, Jennifer (John) Nicholas and Kristin (Matt) LaMotte; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, and brother Jim (Sherry) Pyle.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in California. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, Wounded Warriors, Breast Cancer Awareness, or the charity of your choice.
