Oswaldo Gutierrez Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 3, 2026.
In Loving Memory of Oswaldo Gutierrez June 9, 1932 – March 2, 2026

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." It is with profound sadness that the Gutierrez family announces the passing of our beloved patriarch, Oswaldo Gutierrez, who entered into eternal rest on March 2, 2026, in New York.

A Journey of Courage and Love

Born in Peru, Oswaldo was a man of immense vision and bravery. In the early 1970s, he made the life-changing decision to immigrate to New York. Driven by an unwavering devotion to his family, he sought to build a foundation of opportunity and a better life-a goal he achieved through decades of hard work and sacrifice.

A Foundation of Faith

Oswaldo was a man of profound devotion who ensured that God was at the center of the Gutierrez home. He didn't just speak about his beliefs; he lived them. He instilled in his children and grandchildren a deep sense of religion and faith, teaching us that with prayer and God's guidance, all things are possible. He was our spiritual compass, showing us that true strength comes from a servant's heart and an unwavering trust in the Lord.

The Heart of Every Gathering

Beyond his strength, Oswaldo was the spark of every family celebration. He possessed a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious positivity that could light up any room. Whether it was a large holiday or a quiet dinner, his laughter was the soundtrack of our lives. Growing up under his wing meant being surrounded by his jokes, his stories, and a warmth that made every moment feel special. He will always be fondly remembered for his signature greeting, reciting "Another day?" and waiting for the familiar response of "Another dollar." He taught us that even in hard times, there is always a reason to smile and a blessing to be found.

A Lasting Legacy

Oswaldo was the steady hand and the guiding light for his family. He was a man of deep values, constantly encouraging those he loved to strive for excellence and to live with integrity. His life was long and fruitful, defined by the joy of being surrounded by those who loved him most.

Oswaldo's legacy lives on through:

His devoted sons: Hjalmar, Raphael, and Humphrey.

His many grandchildren: Who were his pride and joy.

His extended family and friends: Both in New York and Peru, who will miss his wisdom and presence.

A Final Farewell

We remember Oswaldo as a strong figure of guidance and a source of endless memories. To a dear husband, father, and grandfather: you are deeply loved. Though you have left our sight, you will never be forgotten.

May God bless you and protect you always.
