Otis Wells Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greene Funeral Home - Downtown Chapel on Feb. 11, 2026.
Otis Wells, Jr., 91, of Rock Hill, S.C. passed away on February 9, 2026. He was the son of the late Otis Wells, Sr. and Annie Sneed Wells. Mr. Wells was preceded in death by the late Nancy Miller Wells and Patricia Burkett. He was preceded in death by siblings, Buddy Wells, Hazel Wells, Bobby Wells, Richard Wells, Cora Belle Jones, Frances Reynolds, and Rachel Gregory, as well as his son Danny Wells.

Mr. Wells was a devoted, loving, and hardworking father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his children, Donna Wells Blanks, Michael W. Wells, Darrell G. Wells, W. Marion Carpenter (Susie), and a sister, Patsy Wells Crocker; step-daughter, Becky Greene.

He leaves behind a lasting impact on his grandchildren, Rodney Blanks (Shannon), Kelli Blanks McGraw (Mitch Doster), Chad Carpenter, Dustin Carpenter, Matthew Carpenter, Hunter Wells, and Thomas Greene. He was the great grandfather of Caleb Blanks, Aubrie Claire McGraw, Sawyer Wells McGraw, Peyton Carpenter, and Eli Carpenter. His best friend and hunting buddy, Gene Russell of FL.

Paw Paw Wells' hobbies included fishing, hunting, and checking his rain gauge. His love for hunting and fishing is something that he enjoyed sharing with his grandchildren, leaving a mark on us that will never fade.

We find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives in the life lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Grandview Memorial Park 620 S. Cherry Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732
