Mr. Otto Ronald Diederich "Ron", 89, of Meldrim, GA, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at his home. Ron will be greatly missed by his wife of 29 years, Lois Layne Diederich; children, Ricky Diederich (Karen) and Rhonda Lyn Griffin; step-daughters, Sharon Serota (Paul), and Hope Arrington (Mark); ten grandchildren, Kali Griffin, Kasi Griffin (Logan Hults), Samuel Diederich (Ariana), Grace Diederich Taylor (Bradley), Hannah Jones (Hunter), Christian Howard, Briannah Durrence (Wade), Faith Howard, Miranda Arrington, and Trinity Serota; four great-grandchildren, Wyatt Durrence, Beckett Jones, Wesley Durrence, and Nash Hults. Ron was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas and was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elma Diederich; siblings, Paul Diederich, Edward Diederich, Louise Morgan, Erma House, Pauline Peters, Geraldine Cook, and Bertie Mae Knox. Ron worked for many years in industrial construction and was the proud owner and operator of Diederich Siding. His passion for collecting and tinkering with old cars led him to establish East of Eden Salvage Yard, where he enjoyed spending countless hours. A man of profound faith, Ron dedicated much of his life to serving others. He led weekly Bible studies at local nursing homes and served as president of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International. He was also deeply involved with the Kairos Prison Ministry and served as a Lay Speaker for the United Methodist Church. His devotion continued as an Elder at Coastal Cathedral, and he found great spiritual renewal through his participation in the Walk to Emmaus. Ron's greatest Ministry was to his family whom he always shared his love of Christ. Beyond his ministry and work, Ron had a great love for ballroom dancing. He was an enthusiastic member of both the Starlight Dance Team and the Penguin Dance Club of Savannah, where he and Lois enjoyed Waltzing the night away. The visitation will be from 10:00 until 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the funeral home. The service to honor Ron's life will follow at 11:00 in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim. Pastor Mark Minter will be officiating. The pallbearers will be Christian Howard, Samuel Diederich, Wade Durrence, Hunter Jones, and Jeff Fordham. Thomas C.
