Susan Isaacs and Elkan Abramowitz

Otto was like a brother to Susan and me. He and I met the first day I was sworn in as an Assistant United States Attorney nearly 60 years ago and we instantly bonded. Our friendship only grew over the years as we became law partners and as we watched our families grow. He was brilliant, thoughtful, funny and caring. We will miss him.

Otto was a mentor with whom I worked closely at Obermaier, Morvillo & Abramowitz, and then later at the United States Attorney's Office. He was a brilliant writer and tactician, serious but with a great sense of humor, known for his hard work and high ethical standards. Most important, and often masked by his somewhat stern facade, Otto was a compassionate person who went out of his way -- in private -- to help people he cared about. I think he was also the partner with the thickest skin when it came to being mocked in our firm holiday movies. He knew he could (and would) dish it out in equal measure once the parties were over. I think about him and many of his OGOisms often. I feel very lucky to have worked with him. RIP, Otto, you and your family are in my prayers.

I was one of Otto´s partners for his stint at Weil. A true gentleman and a role model as to how a lawyer should behave and conduct business. A real treat and honor for me to be part of the same firm as Otto.
