Recknagel, 94, a resident since 1917 of Vallejo, California, a Solano County tax collector for 22 years until his retirement in 1975, died on Wednesday, October 25, 2000, following a long illness. No services are scheduled. Inurnment will be private. Contributions in his memory may be made to California-Hawaii Elks, Special Program, 5450 East Lamona Avenue, Fresno, CA 93727 or Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2425 Stockton Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95817. Arrangements entrusted to Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home, Vallejo.
