Ovieleen “Ovie” Lingerfelt Allen gained her angel wings on Tuesday, September 10th.
After years of declining health, Ovie, passed peacefully on Tuesday, September 10th. She was born to Jim and Mae Caine Lingerfelt on June 26, 1941, in Dahlonega, Georgia. She worked as a school bus driver for the Forsyth County School System for 33 years.
She loved her family, friends, dancing and bingo. You could often find her at Mr. Swiss, Dairy Queen and the American Legion. In her younger years, she was a mentionable dirt track race car driver.
Left to cherish her memory is her, sons, and daughter-in-laws Mitchell (Andrea) Elzey and Joey (Sonya) Elzey, grandchildren Ethan, Cooper, Felicia (Casey) Bennett, Jessi (Tyler) Melton, Cassidy Elzey, and Mason (Michel) Elzey, great grandchildren Rilynn and Colton Bennett, Kodi Roberson, HattieBelle and Nashtyn Melton. Brother, Buck (Earnestine) Lingerfelt and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14th, 2024, at 5:00 PM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. The entombment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will greet visitors at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday, September 13th, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Saturday, from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
Those wishing to make donations in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Georgia Alzheimer’s Association.
