Owen Glenn Cunningham, 88, of Madisonville, KY passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Joseph Eddie Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY.

He was born on August 8, 1937, in Madisonville, KY, to the late Bennie Daniel Cunningham and Welby Cunningham. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Owen loved Madisonville. He dedicated forty-six years to the city with thirty as the superintendent for the Water Department. He would always say, "A man who loves his job never works a day in his life." He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and mowing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He loved his Lord, his family, and friends. Owen was a deacon and member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Bonnie Poole and Mary Ruby Holmes.

His survivors include his wife, Sue Cunningham of Madisonville; daughters, Stacy (Johnny) McGregor and Michele McCoy, both of Madisonville; sister, Marvene Slaton of Madisonville; three loving grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville, KY, with Bro. Kenneth Blevins officiating. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
