Paige Christenson Rimmasch, 85, passed away December 27, 2025, in
Murray, Utah.
Paige was born June 12, 1940, in
Gunnison, Utah, to Howard Brereton Christenson and Duella Higham Christenson. She grew up in Gunnison alongside her siblings Karen, Reuben, Richard, and Howard. In her early years, Paige worked on the family farm thinning beets, hauling hay, picking corn, and many other tasks associated with farm life. Paige attended Gunnison Valley High School where she participated in the Pep Club and played the trumpet and French horn in the school band. After high school she moved to Salt Lake City to attend beauty school and soon became a licensed beautician. Paige was active in her church throughout her life and served in many callings.
On November 3, 1961, Paige married the love of her life, Phillip Kowalewski Rimmasch, in the Manti Temple. Together they started their family in Millcreek and later moved to Holladay where their family grew to seven. Paige was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Paige lived boldly and without apology. She fiercely defended her children and grandchildren, never hesitating to challenge teachers, principals, or anyone else she felt treated them unfairly. Strong-willed and sharp-minded, Paige had a legendary memory and a deep sense of justice. Paige was known for her famous pancakes and potato salad, her Memorial Day grave visits, and her unwavering loyalty to those she loved. Paige enjoyed trips to Wendover to play the slots, bowling, sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, cooking, choir, card games, and cheering on the Utah Jazz.
Paige was preceded in death by her husband Phillip, parents Howard and Duella, siblings Karen, Reuben, and Howard, and daughter Lisa Jones.
Paige is survived by her children Marsha Gerencser (Joseph), Michael, Patricia Powner (James), and Trevor (Rachel). She is also survived by her brother Richard (Joy), along with her grandchildren Constance Brooks (Joseph), David Nelson (Brandi), Samantha Phelps, Mason Powner, Danielle Powner, Patricia Lauren Powner, Ellanore Rimmasch, Henry Rimmasch, Franklin Rimmasch, Steven Powner, Emily Briggs, Elisabeth Jesse, Jordan Powner, Joshua Powner, Jamie Powner, Amanda Dickey, and Katelyn Medina, as well as 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored deeply.
Paige will be remembered as a protector of the weak and a woman who loved with her whole heart. She taught her family to ask questions, write things down, stand their ground, and keep moving forward.
Memorial service and interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens on Monday January 5th, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing prior to the service from 12:30 - 1:45. For those unable to attend, services will be streamed via Zoom. Please click on the "Watch Services" link above.
