Obituary of Palma Lennon
Palma Lennon, 93, of Freehold passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. Palma was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, later moving to Staten Island with her husband and young family. They decided to leave New York some years later, settling into East Brunswick, New Jersey where she worked, raised her family, found her love of gardening, planning family outings and enjoying suburban living.
Palma started her career working on Wall Street for Clark Dodge and Company, where she met her husband, Bob. She later worked in retail as a buyers' assistant for Macy's from where she eventually retired. She was very proud of the fact that she decorated her home from the furniture department at Macy's, every item chosen with great thought and care. This was a trait carried over into all the parts of her life.
Some of Palma's favorite pastimes were gardening where she would carefully nurture her flowers and shrubs, home decorating where she painstakingly planned each area of her home and boating where she would love to stop and dig for clams or muscles later cooking them up with delicious sauce and pasta. She loved cooking and hosting dinners; spending days planning, shopping, cooking and decorating the house. She planned vacations for her family: summers in the Hamptons, winters in the Poconos and other trips in between either with Bob or with the entire family to the Caribbean, Europe, Disney World or even cruising.
Palma was a proud Italian and a devout Catholic. She was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine in Freehold where she attended weekly Mass with her neighbors and friends. She and Bob valued the importance of education for their children and worked hard to provide them with not only a proper Catholic education but also post-secondary education. She was extremely proud of her family, which included 3 children, 6 grandchildren and a great-grandson. She loved that her family was continuing to grow in size, faith and loyalty to each other.
Palma is survived by her children: Colin Lennon and his wife Linda of Freehold, Robin Collins and her husband Daniel of Colts Neck, and Sean Lennon of Manalapan; her grandchildren: Erin Collins D'Alba and her husband Thomas D'Alba, Paige Elizabeth Rocco and her husband Christopher Rocco, Christian Collins and Dana Lofink, Robert Collins and his Fiancé Katie Sharkey, Joseph Lennon and Codi Lennon, and Great-Grandson Leo Thomas D'Alba.
