Pam VanScoder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stewart Family Funeral Home - Tyler on Feb. 4, 2023.
Pamela "Pam" Sue Stanley VanScoder, daughter, caring wife, loving mother and proud Granny left this world suddenly, early in the morning of February 3, 2023. After a courageous battle with cancer and heart failure, at the age of 68, she went to be in Heaven.
She was born, May 19, 1954 in Trenton, MO to Wayne M. Stanley and Minnie F. Atchley Stanley. Pam moved from Missouri to Iowa to Oklahoma as her Dad worked on the railroad. Growing up in Anadarko, Oklahoma she met her husband in high school, Harry Lee VanScoder. She wed the love of her life, after high school, on June 3, 1972. They lived in Del City, where Harry was enlisted in the US Air Force at Tinker AFB and in July of 1974 they added to their family with their first child, Travis Lee. After getting out of the military, the young family moved to Houston following Harry's job with Schlumberger. They found a home in Pasadena and in March of 1981 had their second child, Jared Wayne. Pam and Harry raised their family in Pasadena for 33 yrs. After the boys left home and Harry retired, the couple moved and made a home in Tyler, TX, where they reside now, in-between the two sons and grandkids.
Pam loved spending time with family and made that her priority throughout her life. She poured herself into her home and raising her family. She made it a point to take family vacations nearly every year and loved seeing her children and grandchildren enjoy Disney Land and World. Family was her life and this is how she will be remembered.
Pam's second family love was her church family. She always showed her children and grandchildren the importance of Christian love and commitment. She participated faithfully in church activities and always made family out of friends. She loved her church family and her love for her Savior Jesus was evident to all that knew and loved her. This is her legacy.
Pam is preceded in death by her father and mother, Wayne and Minnie Stanley. She is survived by her loving husband, Harry VanScoder; her two sons, Travis VanScoder and his wife, Audrea Tarkington VanScoder; grandsons, Lane and Riley; her youngest son, Jared VanScoder and his wife, Patrice Sutphen VanScoder; and grandson, Noah, and granddaughter, Emma.
A Memorial Service for Pam VanScoder will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Shiloh Rd. Church of Christ in Tyler, TX at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send monetary donations to Shiloh Road Church of Christ in support of their "Embrace Grace" and "Embrace Life" programs, 1801 Shiloh Road, Tyler, TX 75703 (www.shilohroad.com).
