I loved Pamela. I would drive to Cambridge in the earlier years of our friendship, and since moving to FL, we would meet at least once/year in New London to have lunch and catch up. We talked on the phone, and emailed each other. She was my dear friend, and on this upcoming anniversary of her passing, I miss her terribly. I always will.

I just learned today of the passing of my dear friend and colleague, Dr. Pamela Berger. I had the honor of working with Pamela on Killian“s Chronicle. I am heartbroken. Deepest sympathy and condolences to Alan and their children and grandchildren.

As a local film critic I got to know her covering her career in film. I remember interviewing her about "Sorceress" and, afterwards, confiding in me that she was nervous because I was the first one who interviewed her. I was an (unseen) extra for one scene in "The Imported Bridegroom." My favorite story that she told me was calling up someone who had worked with Francois Truffaut to get support for "Sorceress" and the person shocked at the expense of a transAtlantic call and telling her to mail the script. I hope she and her film career are not forgotten.

I have known Pam since we were children in Hartford attending the Randall School for Creative arts. We acted together in a children's production of The Bluebird. Later we met again in the Cambridge Womens Movement, and she and her husband Alan kindly took me in for a while when my marriage broke up. I also followed her wonderful career as a filmmaker, and even wrote a review of her film Sorceress. A bright star of a woman. Very shocked and sad she us gone.

Auditioning for The Imported Bridegroom movie and her trusting me to play the lead role was a life-changing experience as a young actor. working with her last year on the musical version was a privilege.
